Excellent primer on scientifically-based nutrition

This is an excellent primer on nutrition, and it's important to note that it is based on scientific research. This book will explain why the standard American diet of animal products and refined carbs is making us sick and fat, giving us type 2 diabetes, cancer, heart disease, among a host of other ailments. While the USDA food pyramid has traditionally been based on demands from the agribusiness lobby (livestock, dairy, etc.), this book focuses solely on what science has shown us. I would recommend this book to anyone. The only thing missing from a plant-based diet is Vitamin B-12, so be sure to take a supplement if you choose to go vegan. Otherwise, read this book and prepare to lose weight, feel more energy, clear up your acne, balance your hormones, and get healthy!
