SUGATA BISWAS has been a management consultant with some of the leading consulting firms in private, public, and nonprofit sectors including Accenture, IBM Global Services/The Wilkerson Group, RAND Corporation, and Viant. Mr. Biswas graduated from the University of Chicago with honors in economics and holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management.
DARYL TWITCHELL was a management consultant with the international strategy consulting firm Mercer Management Consulting/CDI, and was a director in the Strategic Planning Group of American Express. He held senior management positions at American Express in strategic investments and new business development, and worked in venture capital as a director at FrontLine Capital Group. Mr. Twitchell graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude from Brown University with a degree in international relations and history, and holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management.

Excellent for MC application and interview preparation

If you are getting ready to apply for management consulting jobs, then this book is worth the investment. It is expecially good for its advice on the application process and the case interview discussion. It summarizes nicely the most common case frameworks and it gives 100 example cases (out of which 10 are discussed) - these are more than sufficient for the interview preparation.

essential overview of the management consulting industry

This is a great resource for anyone interested in getting into consulting. The book's strength is that it gives an objective overview of the entire industry and a step-by-step approach on how to get into it. It is good for MBAs as well as undergrads looking for research associate or analyst positions.
The chapter on case interviewing would be helpful for anyone getting into the business. I especially enjoyed the various points of view provided by the essays from consultants from the top firms (Bain, BCG, Booz, McKinsey, Monitor, TWG, etc.).
