Great Introduction to Counseling text

This is a great basic counseling text. It provides lots of basic information and goes beyond theory to help beginning counselors actually "do" counseling. Perhaps the best thing about this book is it provides dependable information on diversity issues in each chapter, rather than just tacking it on at the end like other texts do. I especially benefited from the chapters on assessing suicide risk, medications, and the appendices with information on working with specific types of populations.
